Will new patient engagement Use Cases drive HIT innovation and influence policymaking that benefits consumers?
The ONC’s Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA) raises awareness of standards and implementation specifications that stakeholders across the healthcare industry can use to address interoperability needs. ONC is using the ISA to guide innovation that empowers patients within the health information technology (HIT) ecosystem. In this Roundtable, Chris Muir, ONC, introduces the role Use Cases play within the ISA to influence the development of standards and regulations. Leslie Kelly Hall, Healthwise, and Christina Caraballo, Get Real Health, review new Use Cases that include patient-generated health data within the health record. Scott Brown, of A|D Vault, shares success stories of Use Cases that are driving advances in interoperability using CDA and FHIR.
